Union Jordan 1 Woven Sail Tightening Up The Partnership

 In Jordan

The Air Jordan line has been incredibly influential in the sneaker industry. We can go as far as saying it’s the reason this industry exists! The line inspired countless other sneaker brands and models (and copycats yo). Its success has so much to do with Michael Jordan’s immense popularity as a basketball player. Plus, innovative design and creative collabs made Jordan Brand one of the top contenders in the game. One of these hot partnerships is with Union LA. And they’re finally releasing the Union Jordan 1 Woven Sail sneakers!Union Jordan 1 Woven Sail

In addition to Union, Air Jordans boast a rich-ass history of collaborations with other brands and designers. These include fashion brands like Off-White and artists like Travis Scott. So to say that this line is a cultural phenomenon is an understatement. Creating buzz and profit opportunities with each new release among sneaker enthusiasts and collectors alike.

History of the Nike Union LA Partnership

Nike and Union LA have had a longstanding partnership that dates back to 2009. That’s about 10 years after Union first opened its doors. Union LA is a popular streetwear and lifestyle boutique by Chris Gibbs, catering to sneaker fans globally! The partnership between Nike and Union has resulted in numerous collections and kicks over the years. Some of which worth thousands on the aftermarket!

Some of the most famous Nike Union collaborations include 2 colorways of the Union Air Jordan 1 in 2018, featuring deconstructed aesthetics. The Union x Air Jordan 4 Retro in 2020, also featured a deconstructed look and was released in two colorways. That shit might sound like Virgil Abloh’s work, but it totally has its own flavor.

In addition to sneakers, Nike and Union also collaborated on apparel collections, which have included t-shirts, hoodies, and accessories. The Nike Union partnership has been the shit thanks to its unique design aesthetics on classic silhouettes.

What Does the Union Jordan 1 Woven Sail Look Like?

Earlier this month, images of the new Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High collab started surfacing. Now that we have official pictures on our hands, it seems this could be a three-way creation with Bephie’s Beauty Supply.

The latest collaborative pair, well, the partners have put quite some effort into it. Union Air Jordan 1 Woven Sail is the latest exclusive pair between Jordan Brand and Union LA. The shoe features a mix of materials, including white sail leather uppers, a woven textile panel on the collar and heel, and suede overlays in shades of gray and blue. And the design draws inspo from vintage sportswear and incorporates Union’s signature deconstructed aesthetic.

Other notable features include a “UN/LA” tag on the lateral side of the shoe. As well as a mismatched color scheme on the collar flaps, with one side in gray and the other in blue. These babies also feature Nike Air branding on the tongue and a classic Air Jordan 1 sole unit. The Union Air Jordan 1 High OG Woven Sail drops sometime in 2023. Now, we still don’t have a specific release date but what we’re sure of is that you’ll need a Nike SNKRS bot.

Resale prices of Nike x Union LA shoes

The resale prices of Nike x Union LA shoes vary depending on the specific model, colorway, and size. As with any other exclusive pair of sneaks. Though this upcoming one seems to be promising judging by the way it looks and the fact that it’s a Jordan 1. Generally speaking, Union Js are high in both demand and resale prices, cause of their limited stock and unique design.

For example, the Union x Air Jordan 1 in the “Storm Blue” and “Black Toe” colorways from 2018 sold for over $1,800 on the resale market. With some sizes and conditions reaching even higher prices. The Union AJ4 in “Off Noir” and “Guava Ice” released in 2020, and also sell for around $1,000 or more on the resale market. Finally, the Union Nike Dunk High in the “Coast” and “Magma Orange” colorways that released in 2021 are currently reselling for around $500 to $1,000.

It’s important to note that these prices are subject to change and can fluctuate based on market demand and availability. And if you wanna keep up with all this news and more (just not the Kardashians), we gotchu. The shittiest blog is here to keep you in the sneaker loop yo!
