An All-New Air Jordan 12 Twist Nods to the Classic Chicago Bulls

 In Jordan, Nike

It seems like Jordan’s Summer 2021 retro collection is packed with takes on classic old styles. And we’re loving this shit! But this next drop is an extra special one. Sneakerheads have been calling out for the Air Jordan 12 “Cherry”: A sneaker that hasn’t hit shelves since 2009. And as people were hoping that this 12-year wait will call for a Jordan 12 drop, it doesn’t really seem like it’s going to happen, although it’s close enough. The Jumpman is serving us an Air Jordan 12 Twist: Not an OG, but atleast in an awesome alternate version of it.

Air Jordan 12 Twist: Better than the OG?

2020 already gave us a few Jordan 12s like the sleek all-black Concord. But this Twist is a clean white pair that is gonna pay homage to the Chicago Bulls‘ white uniforms. This fresh Retro features just enough color to count as a Chicago Bulls colorway. And even though it looks like the Cherry’s twin, but we hate to break it to you, fam. This shoe is an all-new non-OG!

About the Detailed Looks

The Jordan 12 Twist features a crisp white and black color scheme with vibrant metallic red accents. The upper of this AJ12 is crafted from two types of white leather, one that’s tumbled and the other pebbled. Well, more like a basketball-texture. Pretty cool! Any who, the tumbled leather hits the collar, heel, and forefoot, while the pebbled one is seen on the mudguards. Signature stitched lines extend from the mudguards upwards, adding some cool texture. Unlike the OG, the metallic red color is present on the midfoot badge and the top two eyestays, only. And even the black color is very minimal on this shoe, as well. It’s seen on the throat’s “TWO 3” branding, the Jumpman on the tongue, collar lining and the two-tone heel tabs. And don’t forget the full-on Zoom Air cushioning for the extra ultra-comfort feels.

Finally, midsoles are entirely white on this pair, unlike the 2009 Cherry, with red coloring the Jumpman on the toe bumper. Outsoles have a dope black herringbone pattern that surrounds a super cool fiber midfoot plate, completing the look of these 12s.

Release Info

The Air Jordan 12 Twist is releasing on July 31 and its MSRP is set at $190 USD. So, mark your calendars… and your pockets.jordan-12-twist

OG Resale TBT

But first, let’s take a walk down memory lane. Shall we? The Jordan 12 Retro Cherry dropped for $150 back in 2009. The pair is on the resale market for $673, today. And even though this next Jordan 12 Twist isn’t the Cherry OG we’ve all been waiting for, but it’s more than just good enough. It’s actually great! The pair is just sooo fresh! Who doesn’t love a crisp white basketball shoe?

But there’s no need for comparison, fam. You know what? The Air Jordan 12 Twist is already going for $502 USD on the aftermarket right now. And that’s just insane. Especially for a shoe that was never as hyped as the Jordan 1 and 11 that always seem to steal the shoe. That’s why, fam, we urge you to cop this awesome pair. It’s a such smart cop, you’ll regret missing out on it. But first, other than a great bot, make sure you know the right places to buy Nikes. And you’re also better off with good Nike accounts providers to make sure you secure more than one pair of these awesome Jordans. So, mark your sneaker calendars, and work your shittiest bot.
