Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration

Thirty years of Pokémon TCG, and apparently one Pikachu wasn’t enough to celebrate.

Pokémon is making history by launching the expansion simultaneously worldwide. Every card in the set is foil, classic cards are coming back, and each booster pack guarantees one of 30 different Pikachu cards.

Yeah… collectors are gonna have a field day with this one!

Considering how hard Pokémon has been leaning into its 30th anniversary throughout 2026, this set feels like one of the biggest pieces of the celebration rather than just another hyped expansion.

Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration Release Date

The Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration officially drops September 16, 2026,

Unlike the usual staggered launches, collectors around the world enter the chase at the same time. Everyone gets their shot at 30th Celebration products on launch day, although what actually stays on shelves is another question.

If you’ve been following TSB’s coverage of Pokémon’s 30th Anniversary, you already know how big 2026 has been for the franchise. Now the TCG gets its turn in the spotlight, with a release built around nostalgia while bringing something new to the table.

What Cards Are We Chasing?

The biggest twist? Every booster contains a Pikachu, pulled from 30 unique designs featuring different artists and attacks.

So yeah, completing all 30 could become a chase of its own.

The expansion also introduces Futuristic rare cards, including Mew and Mewtwo illustrated by YOSHIROTTEN. Illustration rares bring more fan favorites into the mix, including Umbreon, Espeon, Lapras, and Zorua.

But Pokémon isn’t forgetting where all this started.

Classic cards are returning too, including Base Set Charizard. For longtime collectors, that brings the nostalgia you’d expect from an anniversary set without making the entire release feel recycled.

What Products Are Dropping?

There’s no shortage of ways to get into this set.

Launch-day options include the Elite Trainer Box, Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box, Poster Collection, Knock Out Collection, Tech Sticker Collections, two-pack blister, and Sylveon ex & Greninja ex Box.

And Pokémon isn’t dropping everything at once.

Booster Bundles, Mini Tins, and Binder Collections arrive October 2, with additional premium products scheduled later. That staggered rollout means September is really only the beginning of the 30th Celebration product cycle.

Is the Pokémon 30th Celebration Worth the Hype?

For collectors? There’s a lot going on: nostalgia, classic reprints, 30 Pikachus, all-foil packs, new rarities, and the first synchronized global Pokémon TCG launch.

Pikachu fans can hunt the full lineup, nostalgia collectors get returning classics, and illustration collectors have new artwork to chase.

Whether any individual card becomes valuable is something the secondary market will decide after release. Anniversary hype alone doesn’t guarantee resale value.

But as a Pokémon release? 30th Celebration has basically everything needed to make September 16 a very busy day.
